Moving – I’ve done it several times and you probably have as well.  It’s stressful on a few levels.  We are getting ready to move our son into his first home in Colorado for college.  Not only are there all the long distance details to attend to but there is the logistics of making it all happen.  Then you mix in the emotions and aspect of change and what do you have?  Excitement, concern, apprehension and maybe a bit of fear of the unknown.  There are things you can control and then there are things you just need to do the best you can do and then learn along the way.  Being in the profession I am in makes it challenging for me to say that I’ve covered all the bases and we won’t have any surprises.  But you know what, that’s not life.  So I get the opportunity to continue learning from my experiences and seeing how to improve from the mistakes along the way.  So, it’s all good.  I’m sharing this with you because I want you to know that I experience much of the same things you do and together we are better.  So, keep movin’ on J

My first blog is going to tell you that technology is a love/hate relationship for me.  At times I am pulling at my hair in frustration and in the next minute I’m jumping for joy when miraculously the problem/mystery is solved.  And when I’ve survived the experience I’m thankful that I’ve learned something new that I’ll be able to use in the future to help someone else.

In April I attended NAPO’s conference in Columbus, OH.  Before I went I chose as many technology focused sessions as I could take in 3 days.  During the sessions I was really inspired to do great things for the company and my clients.  Things like working in ‘the cloud’ to back-up your information, create organized lists for To Do’s and that social media can be a good venue to impart small bits of useful information, not just chatter.

Armed with a new vision and just enough information to be dangerous I returned to work with a goal of finding people to help m make it all happen.  I knew I’d have to embrace new ways of doing things and be open to making necessary changes (just like I ask my clients to do).  During the last 2 ½ months I’ve created a new newsletter with ‘hot links’, set-up a Twitter account and created a blog section on the website.  I’ve met new friends along the way and know I couldn’t have accomplished this without them.  Thank you Brenda, Lisa, Scott, Dave and William.

I hope you enjoy the newsletter and opt in to receive my blogs and/or tweets.

All The Best,

Kim
